As an Multi Skilled Decorator, a typical day might include:

* Undertaking all types of painting and decorating, patch plastering and basic wall tiling duties identified within Acis housing
stock and any other properties as instructed. Works may involve both emergency and scheduled responsive repairs as well as more
extensive renovation works to properties.
* Apply mould growth treatments as per manufacturer’s specification.
* Identify and resolve route causes of damp and mould.
* Ensuring that the correct materials are available to complete the work at the required quality standard.

* Liaising with tenants and your line manager concerning the timing and progress of work being undertaken
* Possess a positive ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to work under you own initiative.

* Using ladders, step ladders, scaffolding and hydraulic platforms where needed to affect a repair.
* Fitting of materials and component parts in confined spaces often in awkward postures.
* Lone working with the public and in tenants’ homes, including working at height and in empty properties.

* Achieve your performance and productivity targets by booking appointments in the most efficient way.
* Carrying out localised risk assessments as your individual work task requires

* Completing further training and qualifications as the job role and changing legislation demands.
* Carrying out work activities in line with current Approved Codes of Practice and in accordance with Building Regulations.
* Update your PDA in real time on the job status and communicating with customers and booking of appointments




Some of the experience/skills we need to consider you:

* A City and Guilds I,II or NVQ Level 2 in a specific trade i.e. Painting and Decorating or equivalent with the ability to
undertake other various trade work.
* You’ll have demonstrable experience of repairs and maintenance work within tenanted properties.
* You have a sound understanding of the construction industry in particular the building trade including issues surrounding
legislation, Health and Safety, manual handling, working at heights etc.
* A good knowledge and experience of working in social housing
* The ability to plan ahead to ensure that all jobs can be completed on time, first time.
* Ability to undertake all types of decoration works including Damp and Mould treatments.
* Asbestos awareness



What will make you stand out from the crowd (but not essential):

* Level 2-3 in understanding Damp and Mould in domestic dwellings
* NVQ level 3 in painting and Decorating
* You have the knowledge and are qualified to undertake asbestos removal (non-licensed) or willing to be trained
* You’ll be adept at change, having got hands on experience living and breathing new ways of working and knowing how to bring
your colleagues along for the experience.
* Awareness and understanding of Awaabs Law
