Join our dedicated team as a Multi-Skilled Craftsperson and help us deliver responsive, high-quality repairs and maintenance across our homes.

Key Responsibilities

Our Repairs Operative's key responsibilities include:

  • Carry out high-quality work, including skimming, patching, boarding and rendering, plumbing and carpentry.
  • Working in line with Orwell's vision of fixing repairs first time, improving quality and providing a positive first response.
  • Working on your own initiative to ensure that 'call backs' to repairs are minimised and that 'fix right first time' repairs are maximised.
  • Dealing with tenant enquiries professionally and courteously.
  • Liaising closely with Head Office staff in the notification and reporting of repairs progress.

Our ideal Repairs Operative will…

  • Have proven experience as a plasterer, plumber or carpenter with additional skills in general building/maintenance.
  • Have knowledge of Plastering, Carpentry and Plumbing.
  • Need to be flexible to change your working day to respond to urgent repair needs if required.
