Warrington Borough Council is looking to recruit a Cemetery Operative for its high profile and high achieving Bereavement Services. This is an ISO 9001 quality accredited service and are members of the ICCM’s Charter for the Bereaved and are Gold Standard performers in their Best Value Assessment Scheme.
The service has 4 cemeteries plus 13 closed churchyards and is responsible for the excavation of graves within the 4 Cemeteries and the maintenance of these sites. The cemeteries team are also responsible for a rolling program of Memorial inspection within these sites.
As a Cemetery Operative, you will play a key role in delivering funeral services within the Cemeteries; this will include the excavation and back filling of graves in accordance with the appropriate codes of safe working practice, the delivery and supervision of the funeral service as well as the maintenance of all sites.
You will also be required to take on other duties as required of a Grade 6 employee.
We are looking for a highly motivated, forward-thinking individual with excellent communication and inter-personal skills. We would be looking to recruit a Cemetery Operative who has experience of working within the bereavement industry. Some knowledge and experience of working within Cemeteries & Crematoria would be advantageous but not essential.
