Job description

Multi Skilled Catering & Domestic Assistant

Undertaking necessary duties to ensure the upkeep of a clean and hygienic environment within the hospital and associated areas. These duties will be carried out both in patient and non-patient environments and may also entail specialised cleaning tasks. To be responsive to service needs as they arise and to constantly seek to improve the productivity and quality of the service.

Main Duties
  • All work must be undertaken in line with health, safety, security, and Company and Trust policies and procedures, including infection control.
  • The post holder may work in an environment where they could be exposed to sensitive circumstances and unpleasant environmental conditions.
  • The effective cleaning and maintenance of all hygiene standards within a designated area and its facilities.
  • Comply with work schedules and use appropriate methods of work, ensuring service level agreements and quality standards are met in line with policies.
  • Collection and safe removal of non-clinical and/or clinical waste within your area of work in line with procedures and policies.
  • Safe storage and maintenance of stock and supplies, ensuring availability as required.
  • Assist with meal and beverage services to the required standard, where applicable.
  • Maintain confidentiality, privacy, and dignity at all times, in accordance with the Data Protection Act and policies.
  • Conduct yourself professionally on Trust and Company premises.
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Secure areas after cleaning and ensure the security of keys.
  • Use all mechanical and electrical equipment correctly and safely, following training.
  • Maintain a neat and tidy appearance, adhering to uniform and hygiene guidelines.
  • Participate in team meetings, performance reviews, and training as required.
  • Report faults or hazards immediately to relevant authorities.
  • Engage in personal development and training opportunities.
  • Perform any other duties reasonably requested within the grade of the post.
