Multi-Skilled Building Services Maintenance Engineer

Location: South West (Ideally based near Reading)

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 + Company Vehicle + Benefits

We are working exclusively with our client, a rapidly growing facilities management company, who are expanding their operations across the South East of England following a number of new contract wins. They are looking to appoint an experienced Multi-Skilled Building Services Maintenance Engineer to join their mobile team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is ambitious and self-motivated, with potential to grow into a supervisory or management role as the business continues to scale. The client works across diverse sites including high-end hotels, schools, universities, offices, showrooms, and builders/plumbers merchants.

The Role:

The successful engineer will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance tasks across various building systems and sites.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Performing general building services maintenance duties, including emergency light testing, water hygiene (L8) compliance, building inspections, and mechanical plant maintenance (AHUs, pumps, FCUs).
2. Providing reactive breakdown and repair support across the client’s commercial portfolio, such as lighting repairs, plumbing works, and general fabric repairs.
3. Quoting for remedial works identified during PPMs or callouts.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Legionella Awareness Training
• 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
• Plumbing qualification or relevant experience
• Good understanding of commercial heating and water systems

Desirable:

• FGAS qualification
• Commercial Gas Tickets
• City & Guilds Test & Inspect (or equivalent)

Package and Benefits:

• Full-time, permanent position (40 hours/week)
• £35,000 – £45,000 basic salary
