Job Description:

We’re looking for a Multi-skilled Building Maintenance Engineer to join our Estates team based at our new opening in Canary Wharf. This role is vital in ensuring a first-class building maintenance service within the hospital and satellite sites, covering reactive, project, and scheduled maintenance work.

What you’ll do:
  • Maintain, service, and test electrical and mechanical systems such as AHUs, air conditioning, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, and generators.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and adhere to HCA Healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Be the main point of contact for engineering and maintenance queries at 40 Bank Street.
  • Carry out PPMs and daily checks to keep plant areas operational and tidy.
  • Work on planned preventive maintenance schedules aligned with departmental goals.
  • Manage water systems per Water Risk Assessment guidelines, maintaining accurate records.
  • Respond to work requests via the CAFM system, prioritizing emergency and reactive tasks.
  • Coordinate with the Landlord Management team and attend update meetings as needed.
  • Manage on-site contractors, reviewing RAMs, and issuing permits to work.
  • Assist in projects as required.
What you’ll bring:
  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or engineering building services.
  • Understanding of BMS systems.
  • Knowledge of Water Hygiene and Legionella Management.
  • Experience in hospital or similar environments.
  • Health and Safety, COSHH knowledge.
  • Familiarity with fire regulations.
  • Excellent customer care and communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
