Multi-site Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Manager, Amazon Physical Retail Stores - EU

As a Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Manager, your role is crucial in driving improvements on-site and regionally. You will support your colleagues in maintaining high standards and fostering a culture of safety and inclusivity across your site, managing the health and safety program within the Amazon Fresh Store business.

Amazon Fresh Stores offer in-person shopping experiences through retail stores. This role involves providing technical support and execution to ensure the safety of both internal and external customers across multiple physical retail locations.

You will collaborate with operations teams and the Global WHS team to implement company health and safety policies, ensure compliance with local, corporate, and legal regulations, and utilize risk assessments to make data-driven decisions to minimize risks and adopt best practices.

Key responsibilities:

1. Manage your on-site team and collaborate with other company teams.
2. Analyze data reports and root causes using internal reporting tools to inform safety-related decisions.
3. Provide guidance and coordinate health and safety projects and policies.
4. Drive programs to enhance the safety culture within Amazon.

Basic Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in line with the European Qualifications Framework (EFQ) and additional qualifications to NVQ5/NEBOSH Diploma level.
• Relevant experience managing a team.
• Experience complying with local health and safety legislation.
• Proficiency in verbal and written English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
• Qualifications or experience in sustainability.
• Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
• Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management.
