This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations within a specified region.

The role involves performing planned and reactive maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and building assets in ASDA stores efficiently and cost-effectively, while adhering to Company Health and Safety procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Representing the company professionally and maintaining good relationships with colleagues.
  2. Completing all necessary PPMs and logging remedial tasks accurately to ensure legal compliance.
  3. Supervising and coaching the Maintenance Assistant, supporting their role in line with company processes.
  4. Responding promptly to service requests, assessing the job requirements, and carrying out repairs.
  5. Prioritizing maintenance tasks to meet timescales and SLA commitments.
  6. Communicating with store management and RES regarding repair issues affecting store operations.
  7. Conducting surveys, completing reports, and carrying out alterations and installations within technical competence.
  8. Performing general repairs on store sites, including building fabric and surfaces.
  9. Assisting other MSTs across stores/regions as needed.
  10. Recruiting and selecting qualified MA staff following company policies.
  11. Maintaining accurate administration and recording of jobs using City applications.
  12. Attending training courses to keep technical skills current, including overnight stays if required.
  13. Complying with Health and Safety policies and ensuring documentation and training are up-to-date.
  14. Providing coaching and technical training to team members.
  15. Participating in Out of Hours standby rota, including repairs to plumbing and drainage.
  16. Carrying out first look inspections for equipment such as Fire and Security, HVAC, electrical, and general issues.
  17. Following additional instructions from RES or City Management.

People responsibilities include recruiting, managing, and updating team schedules and leave.

Qualifications required:

  • GCSE Standard education
  • Professional qualifications such as C&G 2382 (18th edition), Level 3 electrical qualification (e.g., C&G 2330, 2365), City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection

Experience in electrical discipline or relevant industry experience is essential.

Specific skills include knowledge of 3-phase electrics, ability to repair electrical and mechanical equipment, general plumbing, working at heights, and a valid driving license.
