The Vacancy
Job Purpose:

This is a key position responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations within a designated region.

The role involves carrying out maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and building assets in ASDA stores efficiently and cost-effectively, adhering to Company Health and Safety procedures.

Responsibilities include maintenance of bakery and catering equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, lighting, building fabric, water services, HVAC, fire, security, and general electrical issues.

Key Accountabilities
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Represent the company professionally and develop good relationships with colleagues.
  • Complete and log all PPM tasks, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Supervise and support the Maintenance Assistant, providing coaching as needed.
  • Respond promptly to service requests, assess requirements, and carry out repairs.
  • Prioritize work to meet timescales and SLA agreements.
  • Communicate with Store Management and RES regarding issues affecting store operations.
  • Conduct surveys and complete reports as required.
  • Perform alterations and installations within technical competence.
  • Carry out general repairs to store sites, including building fabric repairs.
  • Assist other MSTs when requested.
  • Recruit and select qualified Maintenance Assistants following company policies.
  • Maintain accurate administration and record-keeping.
  • Attend training to stay updated with technical developments.
  • Comply with Health and Safety policies at all times.
  • Ensure completion of compliance documentation and mandatory training.
  • Provide coaching and support to team members.
  • Participate in Out of Hours standby rota and perform plumbing repairs as needed.
  • Carry out first looks for equipment issues and respond accordingly.
  • Follow any other reasonable instructions from RES or management.
People Responsibility
  • Manage and oversee recruitment and updates for team members.

General Education:
  • GCSE standard
Professional Qualifications:
  • C&G 2382 (18th edition)
  • Level 3 core Electrical qualification (e.g., C&G 2330, 2365)
  • Electrical certification experience
  • City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection
  • Relevant industry experience or time served in electrical discipline
Specific Knowledge:
  • 3-phase electrical systems
