Job Description:

Job Purpose

• Carry out minor planned and reactive maintenance works at ASDA stores to pre-determined standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, complying with the Company Health and Safety policy.
• Work as part of the store team, communicating with site colleagues and management to provide general maintenance (plumbing, joinery, painting).
• Complete and close Reactive Jobs & PPMs via Help Desk on your City supplied Device/Tablet.
• Log all jobs for each request following the agreed Asda/City protocol.

Reactive Maintenance

Building

• Assist the General Maintenance Technician with minor works.
• PVC strip curtain replacement.
• Low-level cladding and maintenance.
• Internal and external store walk-round inspections.

Plumbing

• Unblocking drains, urinals, toilets, and sinks.
• Repair leaking taps and washers.
• Maintain sinks, urinals, toilets, and drains.

Joinery

• Repair walls, floors, and associated fittings.
• Repair and replace ironmongery and hardware.

General

• Hang banners, pictures, and notice boards.
• Move furniture and equipment.
• Repair furniture and fabrics.
• Complete ad hoc assigned works qualified and authorized.

Planned Maintenance

• Perform basic plant room housekeeping checks.
• Conduct in-store case cleaning as per schedule.
• Perform weekly fire alarm call point testing.
• Check water temperature and flush low-usage outlets in line with L8 regulations.
• Conduct Critical Store Validation (CSV Monthly checks).
• Perform monthly checks on Hand Pallet Trucks.

Skills / Background / Qualifications

• Experience in a trade with ability to perform basic multiple trades effectively.
• Joinery/Building experience preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.
• Physically fit and hands-on approach.
