Sinara Consultants is actively seeking proficient, versatile, and curious application or systems engineers to join our technical operations team.
A key purpose of the role is to provide technical support for our Sinara-built applications 24 hours a day, involving working beyond standard business hours on a rotating shift pattern including evenings, overnight, and early morning shifts, with some daytime shifts possible.
Your responsibilities include maintaining our mission-critical applications, delivering application management support within cloud-based and on-premise environments, and providing third-line technical support for Sinara software applications to various customers.
The role is remote, but you must be based in the UK.
The role involves active monitoring, maintenance, and incident support of Sinara software applications outside standard business hours.
You will analyze, prioritize, and resolve customer support incidents related to applications, data, or systems, whether cloud-hosted or on-premise.
You will also participate in large-scope projects, such as building internal environments with Kubernetes or implementing AWS security configurations.
The work is technically demanding and involves collaboration with Sinara’s software development teams.
The role supports 24/5 coverage, working in rotating shifts: late evenings (5:30pm-1:30am), overnight (12:30am-8:30am), and a flexible third shift. Shifts rotate approximately monthly, and engineers must be available with notice. Support is currently 24/5, with plans to move to 24/7 support.
Solid knowledge of IT concepts (Windows, Linux, networking, VMs, databases), AWS deployment, and container orchestration is essential.
Experience working during out-of-hours shifts focusing on cloud environments is required.
Knowledge in troubleshooting log files is beneficial.
Ideal candidates are curious, collaborative, problem-solving, self-driven, and attentive to detail, with good time management and organizational skills.
This position focuses on cloud infrastructure specialization, with training provided to develop expertise. Opportunities for further technical training and relevant certifications are available.
Full-time, 35-45 hours/week, averaging 37.5 hours, remote within the UK.
Based in London, Sinara provides software development services to exchanges, financial institutions, and data vendors. Located near Tower Bridge, Bermondsey, with excellent transport links.
