Job description

We are delighted to invest further and expand our teams with a new opportunity for a Multi Maintenance Operative to join the Property Maintenance team, who will work across the City of Sunderland to deliver excellent service to our customers.
As a Multi Maintenance Operative at Gentoo, you will carry out minor non-trade specific tasks in our customers' homes. Our customers are at the heart of Gentoo and providing excellent customer service is an essential part of this role. We are looking for a Multi Maintenance Operative who has developed strong communication skills with customers, colleagues and wider teams, ensuring that Gentoo delivers exceptional service to every customer.
It is essential you have knowledge of relevant Health & Safety Regulations and have demonstrable experience carrying out various minor building repairs across trade disciplines.
Working a standard 36-hour working week, Mon - Fri, with an early finish on Fridays. We ask that you have a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business, including occasional overtime as required.
Training and development opportunities are available to support you in building your knowledge and skills to enhance work performance and achieve professional growth.
A full UK driver's licence is required for this position.
The role is subject to a basic DBS paid for by Gentoo., Carry out minor non-trade specific tasks including minor plaster patch repairs, damp and mould wash downs, tiling, brickwork, plumbing and painting, efficiently and on time.
Ensure appropriate parts and materials are available for jobs. Accountability for van-based stock and replenishment.
Ensure that RAMS, Method Statements, Product Information and COSHH are adhered to and followed alongside all other relevant Health and Safety requirements.
Liaise with designated Maintenance Manager or Assistant Maintenance Manager regarding the status of work.
Liaise and interface with other trades as required.
The Group operate an Emergency Out of Hours Service, which you may be required to work on a rota basis as and when required.
What we are looking for

Previous demonstrable experience carrying out general multi-maintenance repairs, including repairs to doors, windows, kitchens, or other general repairs.
Previous demonstrable experience carrying out various minor building repairs across designated trade disciplines.
Experience in delivering excellent service in a customer-facing environment.
Awareness of specific access equipment to be used for at height and confined spaces.
A willingness and ability to work at height, including the use of mobile access equipment and scaffolding when required.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health & Safety regulations.
A flexible approach to meeting customer needs, with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Ability to effectively control materials and stock in day-to-day duties.
Demonstrable competence in using a handheld device.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
