Position: Multi-Line Assembler

You will be part of the production team responsible for assembling parts or components to produce Building Construction Product (BCP) machines, following specified work orders. You will utilize lean manufacturing tools and techniques, operating to defined 'tact times' and production sequences.

Responsibilities
  1. Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions to perform safe and defect-free assembly of parts and components, using various hand/power tools and lifting equipment.
  2. Support planned and unplanned absences by working on several stations.
  3. Train and coach Assembly Technicians/Apprentices to standard work instructions.
  4. Operate BCP-built machines as required.
  5. Follow Caterpillar Production System principles, including continuous improvement, waste elimination, and standard work.
  6. Participate in product/process improvement dialogues.
  7. Cover the Team Leader's role in their absence.
  8. Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work area in line with 5S and TPM principles.
  9. Adhere to health and safety policies and safe working practices.
  10. Uphold Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork, Sustainability.
Candidate Skills and Experience
  • High level of assembly or mechanical aptitude and accuracy.
  • Flexible approach to job responsibilities, including willingness to work overtime.
  • Ability to use hand/power tools and lifting equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise across organizational levels.
  • Willingness to undertake required training and learning.

Note: The criteria may be enhanced based on application volume.

  • Salary: £27,800 rising to £29,200 upon full competence
  • Benefits: 27 days annual leave + bank holidays, Share Scheme (50% company match), Contributory Pension Scheme (company doubles contributions up to 10%), free parking, Caterpillar Advantage discounts
