Job Details

Salary: £34,045.44 per annum

Hours per week: 48

Working days: Monday - Saturday

Job Purpose

Working at our Goldthorpe link, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate delivery of assembled products and invoices to customers within corporate guidelines.

All staff are expected to understand the principles of Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal Products for Human Use (2013/C 68/01), reflected in our SOP – REF Chapter 1 AHDL GDP 1.1. All staff must be trained in this SOP and undergo an annual refresher. Additional GDP training will be role-specific and as per your training matrix.

Key Accountabilities

• Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and traffic signs, and giving due regard to other road users.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure it is roadworthy, including lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• Report faults, breakdowns, accidents, or delays promptly.
• Maintain the vehicle's internal and external condition and cleanliness.
• Ensure sufficient fuel for the day's work.
• Secure the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• Check all orders on the Epod/dropsheets and ensure proper loading.
• Collect returned goods, mail, cheques, or delivery bins and return them safely to the branch as instructed.
• Handle damages or breakages promptly, especially for HazChem items.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good customer relations.
• Participate in other duties as assigned by management.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

Desirable

• Experience in multi-drop delivery driving.
• Route planning skills.

Additional Information

No managerial responsibility or budget influence.

Constant interaction with external customers and regular liaison with transport team members.

Ability to act on own initiative, monitor vehicle condition, and report faults or damages. Serious faults may require the vehicle to be deemed unroadworthy.

Drivers must maintain a professional appearance due to external customer interactions.

Manual Handling

Manual tasks such as lifting and bending are essential duties of this role. We cannot make accommodations for employees unable to perform manual handling duties.
