Job summary

Alliance Healthcare in Preston is seeking a Multi Drop Delivery Driver to support our wholesale distribution operations. You will complete deliveries of assembled products and invoices to customers, loading orders from dropsheets and ensuring accuracy.

The role requires a full driving license, being over 21, and good verbal and written communication, numeracy, and customer care. It includes manual handling and some warehouse duties, with shifts from 5am to 7am, 48 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Monitor fuel, security of vehicle and contents, and health & safety compliance.

# **Job Details****Multi Drop Devliery Driver x 2** This role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business. Location: - PrestonHours: 48 per week - varying/staggered start times 5 am to 7 am with 2 shifts per day of 8.5 hours with 45 min break. Mon-Sat (4 hours on Sat paid as O/T)Salary: £37,140.48 **Job Purpose**To ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of assembled product and invoices to the customer within the corporate guidelines.## Key Accountabilities· To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.· To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.· To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.· To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.· To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.· To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.· To check all orders shown on the dropsheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.· To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management.· Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.· To maintain a smart appearance at all times.· To help maintain good customer relations.· To be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by the Management.· Meet all Health & Safety requirements. # .# Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:**Essential*** A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven* For insurance purposes, all drivers must be over 21 years of age* Whilst we do not ask for a clean license, we will assess the risk of employing applicants who have points on their license and this may affect our decision to shortlist* Existing employees must update fleet services accordingly with any changes to their license status e.g. points on their license, driving bans etc* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Excellent Customer care* Intermediate Numeracy and Literacy**Desirable*** Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable* Route planning experience* Use of scanners**MANUAL HANDLING****It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are “essential requirements” of this role.****Whilst Alliance Healthcare is committed to developing positive policies to promote equal opportunities in employment, we have a duty of care to ensure we do not instigate or worsen any conditions that would prevent the employee from carrying out manual handling duties.****On that basis, for this role we cannot make “reasonable adjustments” for any applicant who is unable to carry out such duties.
