Position Summary

The Bandag plant in Oxford has been in operation for over 50 years, producing tread rubber and retreading materials for Bandag dealers. Bandag is a critical piece of Bridgestone dedicated to the research, development, and manufacturing of premium retread tires. Bridgestone seeks energetic and motivated Maintenance Technicians to join our manufacturing team in Oxford, NC. As a Maintenance Technician, you will focus on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production equipment.

12 Hour Night Shift

•$3000 sign on Bonus
• Pay ranging from $32 - $39/ hour

Responsibilities

As part of the Maintenance Team you will be working to deliver solutions to improve our process reliability, product quality and plant-wide performance.

Some of the duties include:

  • Maintain equipment in compliance with plant safety requirements.
  • Collaborate within a team to address equipment and process issues.
  • Repair and replace faulty components as needed.
  • Perform heavy physical and/or dirty work as required.
  • Provide service in a respectful manner.
  • Be dependable—follow through on commitments, promises, and keep your word. Walk the talk and be responsive to requests.
  • Utilize safety precautions and conduct work in a safe manner (e.g., LOTO, PPE, confined space, hot work permits).
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on plant machinery.
  • Enhance technical knowledge through ongoing training opportunities.
  • Utilize provided training resources and refer to manuals when necessary.
  • Develop familiarity with plant equipment and learn to operate machinery for troubleshooting.
  • Provide timely updates and reports to management and the maintenance team.
  • Organize daily tasks efficiently for optimal time management.
  • Apply logical troubleshooting approaches and problem-solving techniques.
  • Clean up after yourself and contribute to maintaining the shop, assigned areas, and oil storage area, especially after breakdowns.
  • Complete assigned work orders promptly.
  • Take immediate action to resolve safety concerns.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Proficient in multiple technical areas, including hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical repair, welding, electrical controls, and/or PLCs.
  • Experienced with MS Office and CMMS software.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capable of troubleshooting various types of robotic equipment.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work environments and challenges.
  • Strategic planner with a proactive mindset.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Dedicated to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Willing and able to work back shifts, holidays, and plant shutdown.
  • Minimum of two years industrial maintenance experience.
  • H.S diploma or GED required.
  • Technical degree is preferred.
