Your company
I’m working with a leading public services organisation to recruit a Mulesoft Lead Developer/Engineer with a focus on integration and automation for their internal CRM systems.
This role is 1 or 2 days per week in their headquarters in Lewes, East Sussex.
Your new role
The Senior Integration & Automation Engineer will be the lead developer for enterprise automation initiatives, responsible for the design, development, and oversight of automation solutions that streamline administrative and back-office functions within the service. The role will also provide technical leadership, contribute to solution architecture, and guide a small team of developers in the future. Key platforms include MuleSoft (for system integration), as well as automation tools like Power Automate and Blue Prism.
This is a newly created role with excellent opportunity to shape the position and influence the team moving forward. You’ll report to the Data Exploitation Manager and Technical Lead but will also communicate regularly with the Strategic Insights Manager, Lead Data Architect, Cloud team, and Business Leads to advise and inform technical direction and design of automation. You’ll provide leadership and mentoring of the Automation development stand in the Strategic Insights team.
The Strategic Insights team is expanding to cover not only Fabric (Power BI) but Power Platform, Mulesoft/API, and RPA.
This enables you to work closely with the wider strategic insights team including to build overarching solutions rather than fix one problem at a time.
Day to day you’ll be delivering new solutions into the organisation requiring significant focus to test and document the work, then moving on to designing system architecture, writing code, and ensuring integration with other systems. You’ll track activity in DevOps and contribute to technical documentation… As the professional lead for automation in the organisation you’ll stay current with latest technology trends and industry best practices which are continually evolving and made considerably more complex by the level of security involved for internal data.
What you'll need to succeed
We require 5+ years of experience in a Software Engineer role with a focus on:
What you'll get in return
You’ll join a team where work-life balance is of paramount importance. It’s a 37-hour week with excellent annual leave and a pension scheme between 12-15%, plus access to an onsite gym, discounted healthcare scheme, and excellent career progression opportunities with annual pay rises.
