Job description

What to Expect

As a principal technician within the production area, specifically the paint shop reporting to the Group Leader at McLaren Automotive, you will ensure a seamless and efficient operation within the application of paint, maintaining high quality standards within one of our built-in quality areas. Your role is crucial in ensuring production continues with a consistent, high-quality application process.

Your primary responsibilities include practical problem solving for issues found within the quality stations, reworking faults to meet process and application standards, and conducting a 4M method to resolve issues promptly within our internal stakeholder team. You will also ensure all health and safety guidelines are adhered to. Your contributions will be instrumental in achieving our ambitious company goals.

What You'll Do

  • Understand practical problem-solving methods and rework instructions.
  • Escalate issues found within the built-in quality stations and rectify them to meet process standards.
  • Ensure 5S practices within your work area in line with McLaren expectations.
  • Maintain standards such as wearing the provided uniform/clothing.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities as requested by your leader.
  • Apply logical thinking and good communication to ensure rework methods meet high standards.
  • Possess knowledge of paint application and body panels.
