Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist to cover MSK Outpatient and Inpatient Orthopaedics. The role is 0.73 WTE (27.5 hours/week) on a permanent basis, with a 4-day pattern, weekend service, and on-call responsibilities across the trauma/orthopaedic wards.

Qualifications

• Qualified Physiotherapist with HCPC registration
• Postgraduate experience in NHS musculoskeletal outpatient and in-patient orthopaedics
• Recent experience on acute respiratory on-call rota (adult, paediatric, ICU)
• Specialist knowledge and clinical reasoning in MSK/orthopaedic conditions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team and manage time efficiently
• Evidence of ongoing professional development (CPD) and supervising staff/students
• Experience with audit/service evaluation or research is desirable

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical care to MSK outpatients and orthopaedic in-patients
• Work across MSK outpatient and inpatient specialties with rotation across areas
• Cover 0.73 WTE (27.5 hours/week) with 4-day pattern and weekend/roster commitments
• Participate in orthopaedic weekend service and on-call rota
• Collaborate with MDT and therapy services to support patient care
• Engage in in-service training and personal development plans
