Job summary

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant to join our Community Team. You will work with physiotherapists and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver patient-centred rehabilitation in community settings, supporting individuals, families and carers throughout their recovery.

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare or working on the Staff Bank within these organisations. Are you passionate about helping people regain independence and improve their quality of life? We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant to join our friendly Community Team.

In this rewarding role, you will work alongside physiotherapists and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high-quality care to patients in community settings. You'll support people, their families, carers and friends throughout their rehabilitation journey, ensuring every individual feels respected, empowered and involved in their care.

You will contribute to delegated rehabilitation programmes, deliver clinical interventions following competency assessment, support both individual and group therapy sessions, and monitor patient progress, reporting outcomes to registered therapists. Using strong communication skills, sound clinical judgement and effective risk assessment, you'll help ensure safe, effective and person-centred care.

• To provide skilled and specific physiotherapy support to treat and promote the independence of patients with a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
• To carry out a programme of treatment prescribed by the Physiotherapists. This can include the supervision of patients individually, in the gymnasium or other group settings.
• To be responsible for housekeeping tasks including monitoring, maintaining and cleaning physiotherapy equipment and general tidiness of the department.
• Responsible for own documentation using Trust software and administration tasks as required
• Ability to travel across the Trust in a timely manner if required
• This job is based at West View Integrated Care Centre. You will also be required to work across additional sites dependent on service need; the Churchill Centre, Aylesford, Sheppey Community Hospital and Medway and Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital in Herne Bay. Therefore, driving is essential to the role.
