Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist to join the Outpatient Service at Bridgwater Hospital. You will deliver patient-centred care within a supportive multidisciplinary team and manage an outpatient caseload in orthopaedics, MSK and sports-related conditions.

The role offers development through supervision, CPD and service improvement work, with opportunities to supervise Band 4 Exercise Instructors, students and junior staff, and to participate

Qualifications

• Current UK professional registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality, patient-centred MSK outpatient service to an outpatient caseload, including assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based treatment of MSK conditions.
• Independently manage and prioritise a clinical caseload, using advanced clinical reasoning to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Exercise Instructors, and First Contact Practitioners to ensure integrated patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, carers and healthcare professionals, supporting shared decision-making and promoting self-management.
• Provide clinical supervision to Band 4 Exercise Instructors, students and junior staff, contributing to training and development within the team.
• Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records and reports in line with standards.
• Contribute to service development, clinical audit and quality improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and, if required, weekend rotas.
