An exciting bank contract opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Band 7 or Band 6 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a specialist interest in either Spinal or peripheral conditions to join our Adult’s Musculoskeletal Team at Dorset County Hospital. We are looking for a motivated and innovative physiotherapist who demonstrates excellent clinical, leadership and communication skills.
Applicants for this post should have a minimum of 5 Years post graduate clinical experience, and a minimum of 3 years specialist MSK related Band 6 experience, and have HCPC registration. We are looking for someone with specific skills and experience of managing patients with complex presentations.

The post holder will be required to liaise closely with GP’s, Secondary Care Consultants and other Clinical Leads. The post holder will be expected to both lead and contribute to teaching, service improvement initiatives and actively participate in continuous professional development activities.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to prioritise a caseload of complex patients are essential. Supervisory skills are also required for the clinical support, direction and development of rotational staff, apprentices and students. The post holder will also require excellent time management and interpersonal skills. You must be able to demonstrate sound clinical skills working as an effective team player within a musculoskeletal service.

Enhancing development of the MSK Physiotherapy team is a key part of the role as part of fully engaging the workforce, to ensure clinical quality stays central to the delivery of the service and ongoing improvements.
We strongly support professional development, and manage to support most Band 7 Physiotherapists to do masters level study.
The DCH FCP team is closely aligned with the Musculoskeletal out-patients physiotherapy team, and shares in service training and team building opportunities. We prioritise your professional development, and you will receive weekly check in meetings with the lead therapist for the service to ensure you are fully supported whilst establishing your FCP role.
