MRICS Commercial / Residential Valuation Surveyor (Associate, Senior, Director level) - Hiring in Newcastle / Surrounding areas - Remote working

Specialist independent valuation firm specializing in the valuation of commercial and residential real estate for loan security purposes.

Currently a team of under 17 (excluding consultants), they are looking for commercial valuation surveyors to join as they aim to expand and become a major player nationwide.

Their work is mainly secured lending (approx. 70%), with the rest being private valuation/red book valuation work. About 70% of their work is commercial; however, they will consider residential-only experience and can adapt work to suit your preferences. The workload typically involves 2-3 surveys per week, depending on size and complexity.

Having spoken at length with the founder, who is well connected in the lending industry, they come across as friendly, grounded, and level-headed. It is a great opportunity to help drive a company forward that already has a strong market presence and platform, with potential career progression as the company expands.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2.5 years post-qualification experience (PQE)
• MRICS/FRICS qualification and registered valuer status
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and remotely, managing time and tasks effectively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Benefits (approximate and indicative):

• Basic salary up to £75,500, depending on experience and location
• Monthly car allowance (amount to be confirmed)
• 35% commission/bonus over target, typically over 3x salary, paid bi-annually
• Pension contributions

• CPD and RICS membership fees covered, travel expenses reimbursed

• Average workload: 2-3 jobs per week with varied types
• Report turnaround target: 5-10 working days
• Currently offering car allowance and mileage reimbursement, no company cars
• Bonuses around 35% of fees billed, paid bi-annually, based on exceeding a fee target (~3x salary)
• Tools used include Edozo for valuations, Agency Pilot, Excel, Word, and databases like Rightmove Plus and CoStar
• Support from admin team and graduate assistants for data gathering and report formatting
• Main clients: banks, bridging lenders, brokerage firms, and panel managers
