Qualifications

  • Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within 2 years of hire.
  • Minimum 1-year radiologic tech experience required.

Overview:

Sentara Leigh is hiring an MRI Tech. This is a full-time 2nd shift position with sign-on bonus and moving allowance for eligible candidates.

Performs general MRI examinations while maintaining safety integrity of the MRI operational area for all persons including staff and customers. Maintains adequate supply inventory for examinations. Explains procedures to patients and completes departmental documentation.

Job Description

Provide quality MRI imaging to patients under the supervision of a physician, adhering to protocol standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Administer MRI contrast per protocol
  2. Evaluate and approve patient MRI safety screening forms
  3. Understand MRI safety zones and regulations
  4. Review patient records for accuracy and evaluate implants/devices via vendor resources
  5. Act as liaison with physicians and support staff
  6. Maintain patient records, reports, and files
  7. Perform MRI exams, review images for quality, and prepare for interpretation
  8. Explain procedures to patients and complete documentation

Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within 2 years of hire. IV competency is preferred.

Education

  • ALD Radiologic Sciences or Trade school certificate

Certification/Licensure

  • ARRT or MR certification

Experience

Minimum 1-year radiologic tech experience
