Job description

As an MRI Radiographer in Luton, you will perform high-quality scans to support diagnosis and treatment across multiple specialties. Your duties include preparing patients, screening for contraindications, and administering contrast agents where necessary. Precise positioning and clear communication are essential to delivering patient-centred care. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain rigorous professional standards.

This contract role pays £24 to £28 per hour and requires a valid qualification and relevant experience in MRI. Working patterns are flexible, with shifts available to suit your schedule.

As an MRI Radiographer, you will deliver high-quality MRI imaging to patients, supporting their diagnosis, treatment, and recovery across a variety of clinical specialties. You will work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide precise, patient-centred care while upholding the highest professional standards. Key Responsibilities
  • Performing MRI examinations to a high clinical standard
  • Preparing patients for scans, including screening for contraindications and administering contrast agents safely where required
  • Positioning patients accurately to obtain optimal quality images
  • Monitoring patient comfort and safety during and after examinations
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate records of examinations performed
  • Ensuring correct use, calibration, and quality control of imaging equipment
  • Providing support and reassurance to patients before, during and after examinations
  • Collaborating with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Participating in quality assurance and MRI safety procedures
  • Assisting in the education and training of junior staff and students
  • Keeping up to date with advancements in MRI techniques and equipment
Who We Are Looking For
  • Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent recognised qualification
  • Typically 6 months or more of experience working as an MRI Radiographer within a clinical or hospital environment
Skills
  • In-depth understanding of MRI imaging principles and safety protocols
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
  • Proficiency with MRI imaging systems and equipment
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
