Job summary

George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a radiographer to join the MRI department on a 30-hour per week fixed-term contract. The role covers 7-day working patterns, with a 6-month duration and a closing date in November 2026. The post supports a proactive imaging service for the local population.

The successful candidate will perform MRI examinations, ensure safety, supervise junior staff, and contribute to service improvements within a busy radiology department.

Qualifications

• BSc Diagnostic Radiography or the Diploma of the College of Radiographers
• Evidence of recent and relevant CPD
• Qualification in Intravenous Cannulation
• PG Cert in MRI
• Qualification in IOFB Reporting

Responsibilities

• To perform MRI examinations to the highest standard in accordance with department protocols and guidelines.
• To be part of the MRI unit maintaining one's expertise on all equipment and prioritise workload.
• To supervise, clinically teach and advise other radiology staff, student radiographers and radiology department assistants.
• To ensure protocols and procedures are maintained and updated with radiologists to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
• Communicates effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals to provide high quality patient care.
