Overall purpose:
The Reprogramming and Chromatin group led by Prof Petra Hajkova investigates molecular processes that underlie the global erasure of epigenetic information. Our research focuses on epigenetic reprogramming events during mouse development, such as in the zygote and germ cells, with particular interest in the mechanisms of global DNA demethylation and chromatin structure changes.
Purpose of Post:
This project aims to investigate the molecular mechanisms of zygotic and germline DNA demethylation, their links to DNA repair, and their role in germline cycle progression. The successful candidate will conduct research within this focus, manage projects, supervise PhD students, publish research findings, and seek external funding.
