Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Aerospace MRB & Buildline Support Engineer to work within our expanding MRB Team at our Expleo offices.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Technical Authority for Design & the Programme Delivery Lead for MRB:
  • Carry out design analysis on machine shop local concessions produced by manufacturing and quality, highlighting machining defects and determining rework solutions. Assess whether the detail needs to be raised as a full concession for further investigation.
  • Process detail machine shop local concessions / NCRs, assessing the defect's effect on assembly and sub-assembly interfaces to evaluate the impact on the fitting of parts.
  • Identify efficient analysis methods while ensuring compliance with airworthiness and customer procedures.
  • Liaise with multiple functions and suppliers (e.g., design/stress approvers) to ensure appropriate design solutions considering cost, time, performance, and installation requirements.
  • Understand tolerance build-up through analysis of interfacing assembly tolerances and assess the impact of deviations on subsequent assembly levels.
  • Explain and escalate critical issues; mentor others as needed.
  • Be on-site 4 days per week at Samlesbury.

Experience
  • Knowledge of military processes and procedures related to concessions.
  • Experience of automation of repeatable tasks/processes.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working on concessions, directly or in the supply chain, with some delegated technical approval, preferably on the TYPHOON project.
  • Knowledge of metallic 5-axis machining and design easements related to 5-axis details.
  • Understanding of material properties, manufacturing methods, and their effects on aircraft performance.
  • Experience with change processes.
  • Proficiency with SAP CAM, CATIA V5, and PLM Teamcenter.
  • Understanding of build tolerances, analysis, and M&P requirements.
  • Collaborative working approach and a passion for technology and continuous learning, supported by ExpleoAcademy training.
