Job summary

Action Together CIO in Oldham is seeking a Community Development Worker – Move More to join our Community Development team. You will lead place-based approaches that help Oldham residents become more active and improve health and wellbeing, working with residents, VCFSE organisations, partners and stakeholders to strengthen communities.

You will support individuals and groups to develop ideas and initiatives, contributing to healthier, more resilient communities where everyone feels safe,

Qualifications

• Experience building trusted relationships with a wide range of individuals and organisations.
• Confident engaging and communicating with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Skilled facilitator and collaborative problem-solver who can turn ideas into action and support community-led initiatives to thrive.
• Strong understanding of community development, inclusion and the VCFSE sector.
• Committed to tackling inequalities and promoting social justice across Oldham's communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate place-based approaches to boost activity and wellbeing in Oldham.
• Work with residents, VCFS E organisations, partners to strengthen communities.
• Champion benefits of physical activity and social connection.
• Support individuals and groups to develop ideas and initiatives.
• Collaborate across local, Greater Manchester and national systems to tackle health inequalities.
