Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mouth Care Trainer on a 12‑month fixed term basis to deliver the Supervised Tooth Brushing Scheme across schools in Northumberland and North Tyneside. The role involves training school staff, conducting oral health education, and cross-cover within the Mouth Care Team to ensure continuity of service delivery.

The post holder will also contribute to mouth care education in healthcare and community settings, travel across the Northumbria

Qualifications

• Registration with General Dental Council (GDC).
• National Dental Nurse Certificate or equivalent.
• Teaching/training qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Supervised Tooth Brushing Scheme across Northumberland and North Tyneside.
• Provide training, education and practical support to schools and staff.
• Develop and maintain relationships with schools and local authority colleagues.
• Coordinate ordering and distribution of supervision resources.
• Deliver oral health promotion activities and evidence-based advice to children and carers.
• Maintain records and report data for monitoring and contractual requirements.
• Prepare activity information for contract review meetings.
