Job description

Moulding Production Technician

CK Group is recruiting for a Moulding Production Technician on behalf of a global medical technology company, based in Plymouth. This is a permanent, full-time position working night shifts from 11pm to 11am.

The Role:

This role involves the production of plastic components using injection moulding machines.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate injection moulding machines to produce plastic components according to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machine or process issues through root cause analysis and technical fault finding.
  • Perform routine planned maintenance (Weekly, Monthly & 6 Monthly).
  • Assist the PM Technician with annual maintenance tasks.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and internal procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with shift team members including Operators, Quality Technicians, Engineers, and Shift Leaders.
  • Document production data and maintain accurate records via SAP.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Your Background:

  • Qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (e.g., C&G, HND) or a relevant apprenticeship.
  • Experience in maintenance and fault finding in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in electrical technical roles is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement is beneficial.
  • Previous injection moulding experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
