Job summary

Cordek Limited in Horsham, West Sussex, is seeking a Moulding Operative to join our production team. You will operate the moulding plant machinery to produce our EPS-based products to required standards, working on rotating shifts.

The role requires teamwork, attention to safety, calibration checks, and adherence to 5S and Lean manufacturing principles. A forklift licence and a full UK driving licence are beneficial, and 25 days leave plus pension and life assurance are offered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations would be beneficial.
• Forklift licence would be beneficial although full training will be provided.
• Full UK Driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Operating the pre-expander to fill the EPS silo capacity to maintain material supply.
• Operating the moulding machinery to meet customer demand and maintain Kanban levels.
• Calibration checks on the products, recording output and quality data.
• Carrying out mandatory safety checks on the machine including daily maintenance and housekeeping duties to 5S standards.
• Monitoring the safe operation of the steam plant and its boiler safety systems.
• Safely managing the water treatment and chemical testing, awareness of the plant room operation, boiler operation, and start-up and shutdown procedures.
• Working to Lean Manufacturing Standards and process controls.
• Responsible for safety systems, reactive maintenance, breakdowns, and risk management.
• High level of EPS processing knowledge.

Moulding Operative

Location: Horsham, West Sussex, GB, RH12 1

Reference: JS1335

Salary: £13.25 per hour, plus 20% uplift when working a standard rotating shift and 40% when working a 24-hour rotating shift.

Hours: Monday to Friday, on a rotating shift, 6.00am - 2:30pm and 2:00pm to 10:30pm on alternate weeks, with occasional 12-hour night shifts during peak demand. In exceptional circumstances, there may be weekend work.
