Job Description:

This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC three times per week, with flexibility for weekend race events.

The GM Motorsports Program seeks a race strategy analyst to develop race strategy tools and support teams in IndyCar, NASCAR, WEC, and IMSA series. The role involves merging existing AI/ML tools, developing new models, and supporting in-race strategy analysis to optimize race outcomes.

Key responsibilities include applying data science techniques, refining models, developing simulation platforms, visualizing insights, and collaborating across technical teams to implement and improve race strategies.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years in top-level motorsports series, with 2+ years developing strategy tools.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML modeling techniques.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with ability to travel 10% within the US.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in tire modeling, simulation workflows, machine learning libraries, and big data tools.
