Motorsports Sportscar Data Analyst, Peterborough

Job Description

We are seeking a Motorsports Sportscar Data Analyst to apply data science and modeling techniques to develop and refine race strategy tools, facilitating insightful pre-race planning and real-time decision making during live race events.

Responsibilities
  1. Refine existing AI/ML models for motorsports applications, updating Python code as needed.
  2. Develop platforms for Monte Carlo simulations and tire degradation models.
  3. Create visualizations to effectively communicate insights, collaborating with IT and software teams for implementation.
  4. Verify and improve race strategy tools and models, working with IMSA and WEC teams.
  5. Analyze vehicle pace, track conditions, and other factors to inform race strategies.
  6. Collaborate with GM and motorsports teams to develop and support race strategy software.
  7. Apply analysis techniques across different racing series to validate and refine models.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in top-level motorsports series, with 2+ years developing or using strategy tools.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with AI/ML modeling and big data tools is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and good interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to travel within the US approximately 10% of the time.
Additional Information

This role may be eligible for relocation benefits. Candidates should be prepared to work in a hybrid setting, reporting to Concord, NC, at least three times per week, with flexible scheduling for race events.
