Job Description

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. The successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop mechatronics systems that enhance the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development processes for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, designing, developing, and optimizing solutions to technical and engineering challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing applications.
  • Create detailed system architectures and specifications meeting or exceeding requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop solutions.
  • Liaise with external suppliers, evaluate, and select components and technologies.
  • Conduct testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure system functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Oversee prototype and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering with a proven track record.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment with strong organization and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related fields.
  • Experience with automotive, motorsports, and aerodynamics testing.
  • Familiarity with system simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
