Job Description:

This role is categorized as onsite, with the successful candidate expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop mechatronic systems that enhance the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development processes for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, designing, developing, and optimizing solutions to technical and engineering challenges. Your role is crucial in contributing to our competitiveness.

You will collaborate across functions to help shape the future of motorsports.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing.
  • Create detailed system architectures and specifications.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop solutions.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers, evaluate components, and select technologies.
  • Conduct system testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Oversee prototype and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, and software integration.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering with a proven track record.
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary system design and integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related fields.
  • Experience with automotive, motorsports, or aerodynamics testing.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink and advanced CAD skills.
