Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department at General Motors. The successful candidate will develop mechatronic systems to enhance aerodynamics development for motorsport and high-performance vehicles. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing technical solutions in a multidisciplinary team, contributing significantly to our competitiveness and innovation in motorsports.

Responsibilities
  1. Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive testing applications.
  2. Create system architectures and specifications to meet product requirements.
  3. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop innovative solutions.
  4. Coordinate with external suppliers for component selection and evaluation.
  5. Conduct system testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure performance and reliability.
  6. Manage prototype and production delivery, including mechanical design, PCB layout, and software integration.
  7. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and stakeholder presentations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechatronics engineering with a successful project track record.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software system integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with strong organizational and communication skills.
