Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department at General Motors. This onsite role requires reporting to Concord, NC, on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing applications.
  2. Create detailed system architectures and specifications that meet or exceed product requirements.
  3. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop innovative solutions.
  4. Coordinate with external suppliers to evaluate and select components and technologies.
  5. Conduct system testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure functionality and reliability.
  6. Oversee the delivery of prototypes and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
  7. Prepare and present technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering with a proven track record.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming (C, C++, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, experience in automotive or motorsports testing, familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, and advanced CAD skills.
