Job Description:

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. The successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role: We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop mechatronic systems that enhance the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development processes for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, designing, developing, and optimizing solutions to technical and engineering challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do:
  • Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing applications.
  • Create detailed system architectures and specifications that meet or exceed requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to create innovative solutions.
  • Work with external suppliers to evaluate and select components and technologies.
  • Conduct system testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Oversee delivery of prototypes and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and presentations for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering with a proven track record.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment with strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with automotive, motorsports, and aerodynamics testing.
  • Familiarity with system simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Expertise in CAD and mechanical design.
  • Knowledge of control systems and theory.
