Job Description:

This role is categorized as onsite. The successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop mechatronics systems that enhance the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development processes for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and optimize solutions to technical and engineering challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing.
  • Create detailed system architectures and specifications.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
  • Work with external suppliers to evaluate and select components.
  • Conduct system testing, analysis, and debugging.
  • Oversee prototype and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering with a proven track record.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant fields.
  • Experience with automotive, motorsports, and aerodynamics testing.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Expertise in CAD and mechanical design.
