Job Description:

This role is categorized as onsite, with the successful candidate expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop mechatronics systems that enhance the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development processes for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, designing, developing, and optimizing solutions to address challenging technical and engineering obstacles. Your contributions will be crucial in maintaining our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing applications.
  • Create detailed system architectures and specifications meeting or exceeding product requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop innovative solutions.
  • Liaise with external suppliers, evaluate, and select appropriate components and technologies.
  • Conduct system-level testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Oversee delivery of prototypes and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering with a proven track record.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, demonstrating organization, collaboration, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Mechatronics or related fields.
  • Experience with automotive, motorsports, or aerodynamics testing.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Expertise in CAD and mechanical design.
  • Knowledge of control systems and theory.
