Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop mechatronics systems that enhance the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development processes for both motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. You will work cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to design, develop, and optimize solutions to technical challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

This role is onsite in Concord, NC, reporting full-time to the location.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing.
  • Create detailed system architectures and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions.
  • Evaluate and select components and technologies from external suppliers.
  • Conduct testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure system performance and reliability.
  • Manage delivery of prototypes and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and presentations for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering with proven success.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software system integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, demonstrating organization, collaboration, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in relevant engineering fields.
  • Experience with automotive, motorsports, or aerodynamics testing.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Expertise in CAD and mechanical design.
