Job Description:

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. The successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role: We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop mechatronic systems that enhance the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development processes for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will design, develop, and optimize solutions to tackle challenging technical and engineering obstacles. Your role is crucial and will significantly contribute to our competitiveness.

You will showcase your design and engineering talents, apply your knowledge and skills, drive innovation, and connect lessons learned in racing to production vehicles. You will work cross-functionally with partners and help shape the future of motorsports.

What You’ll Do:
  • Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing applications.
  • Develop detailed system architectures and specifications meeting or exceeding product requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to create innovative solutions.
  • Liaise with external suppliers, evaluate, and select appropriate components and technologies.
  • Conduct system-level testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Oversee delivery of prototypes and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering with a proven track record.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration, and multidisciplinary system design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment, with strong organization, collaboration, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in relevant fields.
  • Experience with automotive, motorsports, and aerodynamics testing.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink.
