Job Description

This role is categorized as onsite, requiring reporting to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your main responsibility will be developing mechatronics systems to enhance our aerodynamics development processes for motorsport and high-performance vehicles. You will work in a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and optimize solutions addressing technical challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing.
• Create detailed system architectures and specifications.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop solutions.
• Work with external suppliers to evaluate and select components.
• Conduct testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure system performance and reliability.
• Oversee delivery of prototypes and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and presentations for stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechatronics or related field with a successful solution track record.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
• Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
• Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment with strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in relevant fields.
• Experience with automotive, motorsports, or aerodynamics testing.
• Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Expertise in CAD and mechanical design.
• Knowledge of control systems and theory.
