Job Description

This role is categorized as onsite. The successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop mechatronics systems that enhance the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development processes for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will design, develop, and optimize solutions to address challenging technical and engineering obstacles. Your role is crucial in contributing to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing applications.
  • Create detailed system architectures and specifications meeting or exceeding product requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to create innovative solutions.
  • Evaluate and select components and technologies from external suppliers.
  • Conduct system testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Oversee delivery of prototypes and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering with a proven track record.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with strong organizational and communication skills.
