Job Description

This onsite role requires reporting to Concord, NC, full-time. We seek a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join our Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your main responsibility will be developing mechatronic systems to improve our aerodynamics testing processes for motorsport and high-performance vehicles. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, designing, developing, and optimizing solutions to technical challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing.
• Create system architectures and specifications meeting or exceeding requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop innovative solutions.
• Work with external suppliers, evaluate components, and select technologies.
• Conduct system testing, analysis, and debugging for reliability and performance.
• Oversee prototype and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and presentations for stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related.
• 5+ years in mechatronics engineering with proven solutions.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software system integration.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
• Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming (C, C++, Python).
• Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment with good organizational and communication skills.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in relevant fields.
• Experience in automotive, motorsports, or aerodynamics testing.
• Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Expertise in CAD and mechanical design.
• Knowledge of control systems and theory.
