Job Description:

This role is categorized as onsite, requiring the candidate to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We seek a highly skilled Senior Data Processing Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your main responsibility will be developing complex data pipelines and processing systems to support aerodynamics development for motorsport and high-performance vehicles. You will design, develop, and optimize solutions to address technical challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do
  • Architect, design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
  • Integrate data from various platforms and systems, including on-prem and cloud databases, data lakes, APIs, and third-party vendors.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality through automated validation and monitoring.
  • Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in data workflows.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, Engineers, and Aerodynamicists to meet business needs.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, Java.
  • Experience with Kafka, Flink, Databricks.
  • Knowledge of distributed computing systems like SLURM, LSF.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience in motorsports industry.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security practices.
  • Experience with HPC architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation and Data Acquisition systems.
  • Developing live streaming data pipelines.
  • Understanding aerodynamic testing and practices.
