Job Description

This role is categorized as onsite, with the successful candidate expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Processing Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop complex data pipelines and data-processing systems that enhance our aerodynamics development activities for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will design, develop, and optimize solutions to address technical challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do
  1. Architect, design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for large volumes of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
  2. Collaborate with data engineers and other teams to integrate data from various platforms (on-premises and cloud databases, data lakes, APIs, third-party vendors).
  3. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality through automated validation and monitoring.
  4. Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in data workflows for speed and reliability.
  5. Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into efficient data solutions.
  6. Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices.
  7. Prepare and present technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, Java.
  • Experience with Kafka, Flink, Databricks.
  • Knowledge of distributed computing systems like SLURM, LSF.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in related fields.
  • Experience in motorsports industry.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
  • Experience with HPC architecture and instrumentation/Data Acquisition systems.
  • Experience developing Live Streaming data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with aerodynamic testing.
