Job Description:

This role is categorized as onsite, requiring the successful candidate to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Processing Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop complex data pipelines and data-processing systems that enhance our aerodynamics development activities for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will design, develop, and optimize solutions to tackle technical challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do
  1. Architect, design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to process large volumes of data from multiple sources.
  2. Collaborate with data engineers and other teams to integrate data from various platforms (on-premises and cloud databases, data lakes, APIs, third-party vendors).
  3. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality through automated validation and monitoring.
  4. Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in data workflows.
  5. Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into data solutions.
  6. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices.
  7. Prepare and present technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, Java.
  • Experience with Kafka, Flink, Databricks.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems management (e.g., SLURM, LSF).
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience in motorsports industry.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security practices.
  • Experience with HPC architecture.
  • Hands-on with instrumentation and Data Acquisition systems.
  • Skilled in developing Live Streaming data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with aerodynamic testing and practices.
