Job summary

Prodrive in Banbury, Oxfordshire, UK is seeking a Systems and Controls Engineer to maintain reliability and boost performance across Motorsport Programmes, with a focus on Rally Raid. The role covers embedded control software, model-based control algorithms and powertrain diagnostics, supporting both factory and customer teams.

You will collaborate with Software, Electrical and Customer Support teams, developing new data and software systems while ensuring compliance with regulations on event

Qualifications

• IT support and development (MS Windows, networking, Excel VBA).
• Programming including Matlab, Simulink, Python, C.
• Familiarity with Bosch Motorsport tool chain (Widarab, RaceCon).
• Strong understanding of wiring looms at a system level.
• Understanding CAN, LIN & Ethernet protocols.
• Experience in motorsport or automotive control units and data loggers.
• Knowledge of engine, transmission, HVAC, electrical distribution systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork, with ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage electronic system specification and software updates for Prodrive Motorsport products.
• Data analysis and system-wide commissioning of rally and race cars on event, remote and factory testing.
• Develop and optimise control strategies for performance, drivability, efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with Software, Electrical and Customer Support teams for factory and customer needs.
• Ensure adherence to regulations with championship organisers.
• Develop and maintain embedded control software for motorsport applications.
• Develop control algorithms using model-based development techniques.
• Implement controls for powertrain, torque management, driveline, thermal management and vehicle dynamics.
